Bed Time

by Sheila B. Jack

 The moon rose impatient,

         pushing the sun away;

Passing a cold green hand

        over the warm pink grasses.

Tenaciously the sun's warm fingers

                    curled round the Pine's red trunk ;

Unwilling to leave the party,

                   Not wanting to go to bed.
