Read the fable and tell us what is the moral you get out of reading it.
The Fox and the Crow
Master Crow perched on a branch, holding a piece of cheese in his beak.
Master Fox, drawn by the tempting smell, addressed him with these words:
“Good day, my dear Crow! How lovely you are! What a splendid sheen your feathers have! Surely, if your voice is as fine as your plumage, you are the Phoenix of these woods.”
Delighted by such praise, the Crow opened his beak to let out a proud caw. The cheese tumbled to the ground, and the Fox swiftly snatched it up.
“My good Crow,” the Fox said, “learn that every flatterer lives at the expense of those who believe him. This lesson is well worth a piece of cheese, indeed.”
Ashamed and now wiser, the Crow vowed never again to be tricked by flattery.
