2. rendi i vendosjes së fjalëve 
   
   

Si all (of) ashtu edhe whole mund të përdoren me emra njëjës me kuptimin ‘gjithë’ , ‘të gjithë’ , ‘cdo pjesë’ . Rendi i vendosjes së fjalëve është i ndryshëm. 

përcaktor + whole + emër 

all (of) + përcaktor + emër 

• Julie spent the whole week at home. 

Julie spent all (of) the week at home. 

• my whole life 

all (of) my life 

3. referenca të papërcaktuara 
   
   

Zakonisht all nuk përdoret përpara nyjeve të pashquara. 

• She’s eaten a whole loaf. (JO: …all a loaf.) 

4. emra të panumërueshëm 
   
   

Me shumicën e emrave të panumërueshëm preferohet zakonisht all (of). 

• I’ve drunk all (of) the milk. (JO:…the whole milk.) 

5. the whole of  
   
   

Përgjithësisht, në vend të whole mund të përdorim the whole of – ‘të gjithë…’. 

• Julie spent the whole of the summer at home. 
• the whole of my life 
  
  

Përpara emrave të përvecëm dhe përemrave përdorim gjithnjë the whole of dhe JO whole. Përdorimi i all (of) është gjithashtu i mundur. 

• The whole of / All of Venice was under water. (JO: whole Venice…) 

• I’ve just read the whole of / all of ‘War and Peace’. 
• I’ve read the whole of / all of it. 

6. emrat shumës 
   
   

Kur shoqërojnë emra shumës, all dhe whole kanë kuptime të ndryshme. All është e ngjashme me ‘every’ – ‘cdo’ ; whole ka kuptimin ‘complete’ – ‘i/e plotë’ , ‘entire’ – ‘i/e gjithë’ , ‘i/e tërë’. 

Krahaso; 

• All Indian tribes suffered from white settlement in America. 

(Cdo tribu indiane vuajti nga…) 

• Whole Indian tribes were killed off. 

(Tribu të tëra Indianësh u cfarosën.)
