Several months ago we started to read together pages from the book "Give Happiness a chance".
We haven't finished it yet. We will resume reading it this evening with the following page.

Tower of Babel

I am dismayed by people’s awful inability to get on with
Each other, to understand each other, to love each other. 

Press, radio and TV dish up an almost deadly

Daily dose of war, violence, murder, brutality-it’s a

Senseless show. Enough to suffocate us.

All these conferences, committees, protests,
Manifestos and debates don’t seem to improve
Mutual understanding.
In his own way, everyone wants to work towards
Peace and a better world. But no one seems willing to
Forgive, to bury the hatchet. No one seems to be determined to change himself. 

Everyone wants to
Blame someone else . Everyone wants to accuse, attack
Or make someone else responsible. That way we are
Heading back towards the tower of Babel. We are
Possessed by the spirit of Babel-the feeling of
Confusion, contradiction and darkness.

Just for once, try to be quiet and calm. Give time to
Discovering the feeling of peace, of God, of love. If this
Rewards. They are fantastic rewards. They have these names: love, joy, patience, friendliness, kindness, faithfulness, comfort, gentleness and simplicity.
