11. instrumentet muzikorë 

Struktura the + njëjës përdoret shpesh herë për të folur për instrumentet muzikorë në 

përgjithësi ose rreth ekzekutimit me to. 

• The violin is really difficult. 
• Who’s that on the piano? 
  
  

Por theja  shpesh herë bie kur flasim për muzikën jazz ose pop dhe ndonjëherë edhe kur flasim për atë klasike. 

• This recording was made with Miles Davis on trumpet. 

• She studied oboe and saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music 

12. televizion, (the) radio, (the) cinema dhe (the) theatre 
    
    

Kur flasim për televizionin si një formë argëtimi nuk përdorim nyje. 

• It’s not easy to write plays for television. 

• Would you rather go out or watch TV? 
  
  

Por nyjet përdoren kur television përkufizon aparatin e televizorit. 

Krahaso: 

• What’s on TV? 
• Look out! The cat’s on the TV! 

Përgjithësisht me radio, cinema dhe theatre përdorim nyje. 

• I always listen to the radio while I’m driving. 
• It was a great treat to go to the cinema or the theatre when I was a child. 

Por nyja mund të bierë kur flasim për këto institucione duke i parë ato si forma arti ose si 

profesione. 

• Cinema is different from theatre in several ways. 
• He’s worked in radio all his life. 

13. punët dhe funksionet 

Nyjet a/an përdoren gjithashtu edhe për të thënë cfarë pune kryen dikush.

• She’s an architect. (JO: She’s architect.) 

Theja  nuk përdoret në titujt si Queen Elizabeth, President Lincoln, etj.

 Krahaso: 

• Queen Elizabeth had dinner with President Kennedy. 

• The Queen had dinner with the President. 

Zakonisht theja  nuk përdoret në komplementin e një fjalie, 

p.sh. kur themi që ‘dikush zuri një funksion të caktuar unik (të vetmin në atë organizëm)’.

 Krahaso: 

• They appointed him Head Librarian. 
• He’s a librarian. 

• He was elected President in 1879. 
• I want to see the President.
