Kur other përdoret me një emër nuk vendoset në numrin shumës. 

• Where are the other photos? (JO: …the others photos?) 
  
  

Por kur përdoret vetëm, pa emër, mund të jetë edhe në shumës. 

• I’ve got one lot of photos. Where are the others? 
• These are too small. Have you got any others? 
  
  

Zakonisht, other(s) përdoret vetëm e vetme nëse ajo i referohet një emri i cili është përmendur më parë. Përjashtim përbën përdorimi i shumësit të zakonshëm të (the) others me kuptimin (the) other people – ‘të tjerët’. 

• He never thinks of others. 
• Jake’s arrived – I must tell the others. 

POR JO: On the telephone, one cannot see the other. 

OSE: He never listens to another. 

5. nuk përdoret për të thënë ‘different’ – ‘i ndryshëm’ 
   
   

Other nuk përdoret si mbiemër për të thënë ‘different’ – ‘i ndryshëm’. 

• I’d prefer a completely different colour. 

(JO: …a completely other colour.) 

• It would print better on different paper. (JO: …other paper.) 
• You look different with a beard. (JO: You look other…)
