51  alike 

Alike do të thotë ‘si njëri tjetri’ , ‘indetikë’. 

Krahaso: 

• The two boys are alike in looks, but not in personality. 
• He’s like his brother. (JO: He’s alike his brother.)

Alike përdoret kryesisht në pozicion kallëzuesor. 

Krahaso: 

• He’s two daughters are very much alike. 

• He’s got two very similar – looking daughters. (JO: …alike daughters.) 

all (1): hyrje 

1. tre ose më shumë sende

All – ‘gjithë’ , përdoret kur u referohemi tre apo më shumë sende. 

Krahaso: 

• I’ll take all three shirts, please. 
• I’ll take both shirts. (JO: …all two shirts.) 

2. kryefjalë, kundrinë ose plotës

All në fjali mund të jetë kryefjalë - ‘subject’ , kundrinë - ‘object’ ose    plotës – ‘complement’  

• All that matters is to be happy. 
• That’s all. 
• I gave her all she asked for.

All mund të shërbejë për të modifikuar/cilësuar një emër ose një përemër dhe mund të vendoset në një nga dy pozicionet e mëposhtme:

All mund të përdoret për të emfatizuar mbiemrat, ndajfoljet, parafjalët dhe lidhëzat.
