Grammarians formerly used to recommend that a pronoun used as the complement of the verb be (is/am/are/was/were) should be in the nominative (subject) form.
Dikur gramatikanët rekomandonin që një përemër i përdorur si plotës i foljes be (is/am/are/was/were) të ishte në rasën emërore.

Today the use of the nominative form in such cases is considered extremely formal and over-correct.
Sot përdorimi i rasës emërore në këto raste konsiderohet shumë formal dhe i tepruar.

Instead, we use the objective form.
Në vend të saj përdorim rasën kallëzore.

• It is me.
• Jam unë.

(More natural than It is I.)
(Më natyrale se It is I.)

• That was him.
• Ai ishte.

(More natural than That was he.)
(Më natyrale se That was he.)
