Parafjala of-prej, me
Ø Parafjala of perkthehet prej, me dhe perdoret perpara emrit qe shenon te teren nga e cila merret nje pjese, si p.sh.:
A piece of meat. Nje cope mishi. ( nje cope prej mishi)
Two pieces of ham. Dy copa proshute ( dy thela prej proshute)
Three pieces of bread. Tre copa buke (tre thela buke)
Shenim:
Ø Parafjala of, zakonisht eshte e patheksuar dhe per kete arsye shqiptohet me nje tingull te dobet dhe me nje/ f / fundore sikurse te ishte v, pra ate do ta degjojme te shqiptohet me shume si /ə v/ ose /ɔv/.
Ø Nese parafjala e shqipes prej tregon lende, pra materie, prej se ciles perbehet sendi, ajo nuk perkthehet dhe rrethanori i lendes vendoset perpara emrit, sikur te ishte percaktor, si p.sh.:
A coat of leather. Nje pallto prej lekure.
A leather coat. Nje pallto lekure.
Shenim:
Ø Edhe parafjala shqipe per, kur tregon qellimin per te cilin sherben nje send, atehere rrethanori qe tregon qellimin vendoset perpara emrit ne rolin e mbiemrit, si ne keta shembuj:
Nje filxhan caji, nje kuti fishekzjarresh.
Ø Ne shqip, parafjala me, perdoret per te treguar ate qe permban dicka. Ne anglisht kjo jepet me parafjalen of, ndersa rasa rrjedhore pa parafjale e shqipes, shenon emrin e lendes ose te sendeve qe mbahen zakonisht ne nje ene, ne nje kuti etj. Ne kete rast ky emer ne anglisht vendoset perpara parafjales ne rolin e nje mbiemri, si p.sh.:
A glass of water. Nje gote me uje. (gota qe permban uje)
A water glass. Nje gote uji. (gota qe sherben per mbajtjen e ujit)
A bottle of wine. Nje shishe me vere.( shishja qe permban vere)
A wine bottle. Nje shishe vere(shishja qe sheben per mbajtjen e veres)
Bashkebisedim:
Jennifer: You have an open fire in the sitting room. Does it burn much coal?
Mary: Yes, rather a lot. It burns five tons of coal every year.
Jennifer: And do you burn coal in the kitchen boiler?
Mary: No, we use coke in that. It burns about six tons of coke a year. That is, we use ten sacks of coke every month.

Mary: Just a piece of bread and butter, and a cup of tea.
Jennifer: That isn’t enough for a young man.
Mary: Well, no, perhaps it isn’t. But he doesn’t like very much breakfast.
Jennifer: Do you take sugar in your tea?
Mary: Yes, two spoonfuls, please.
Shpjegime:
1) An open fire-oxhak, vater me oxhak

We have a lot of milk, but we haven’t much water.
o How many kites have we in the yard and how many balloons?
We have a lot of kites, but we haven’t many balloons.
o How many oranges have we in the box and how many apples?
We have a lot of oranges, but we haven’t many apples.
Shprehje dhe frazeologji:
How many pens have you got? Sa stilolapsa keni?
You have a lot of pens. Ju keni shume stilolapsa.
Yes, I have. Po, une kam.
How much sugar have we in the cupboard? Sa sheqer kemi ne dollap?
We need a little milk and a few bottles. Ne kemi nevoje per pak qumesht dhe disa shishe.
No, I think we have enough books, and there is plenty of ink. Jo, une mendoj se kemi mjaftueshem libra dhe shume boje.
A piece of bread and a glass of milk. Nje cope buke dhe nje gote me qumesht.
Shenim per bashkebisedimin:
Ø Folja to burn eshte njekohesisht kalimtare dhe jokalimtare. P.sh:
We burn woods in December. Ne djegim dru ne Dhjetor.( folje kalimtare)
The woods are burning in the fire place. Drute po digjen ne oxhak.(folje jokalimtare).
Ø Drink mund te jete folje me kuptimin pi, ose emer me kuptimin pije: Shembuj:
This is a drink. Kjo eshte nje pije.
We need a drink. Ne kemi nevoje per pije.
I want to drink some orange juice. Une deshiroj te pi pak leng portokalli.
