20. për t’iu referuar asaj që të tjerët presin 

 

□ actually (kryesisht GB); in fact; as matter of fact; to tell the truth; well 

 

Këto shprehje përdoren kur duam të tregojmë që nëse ato që dikush priste të realizoheshin janë plotësuar apo jo. Actually mund të përdoret për të thënë që ajo që dikush parashikoi u realizua domethënë ‘e gjeti’ , ‘i ra në kokë’. 

• ‘Did you enjoyed your holiday?’  ‘Very much, actually.’ 

 

Shprehjet actually, in fact dhe as matter of fact mund të përdoren për të futur të dhëna plotësuese. 

• The weather was awful. Actually, the campsite got flooded and we had to come home. 

• ‘Was the concert nice?’  ‘Yes, as matter of fact it was terrific.’ 

• ‘Did you meet the Minister/’  ‘Yes. In fact, he asked us to lunch.’ 

Të katër këto shprehje përdoren kur ato çfarë dëgjuesi priste të kryhen nuk u realizuan. 

• ‘How was the holiday?’  ‘Well, actually, we didn’t go.’ 

• ‘How much were the carrots?’  ‘Well, in fact/to tell the truth, I forgot to buy them.’ 

• ‘I hope you passed the exam.’  ‘No, as matter of fact, I didn’t.’ 

 

Actually përdoret shpesh për të futur korigjime. 

• ‘Hello, John.’  ‘Actually, my name is Philip.’
