As is followed by a clause. 

Like is followed by a noun. 

• Incorrect: He did like he was told. 

• Correct: He did as he was told. 

• Incorrect: He fought like a tiger does. 

• Correct: He fought like a tiger. 

• Correct: He fought as a tiger does.
